Snow Leopard Foundation

Snow Leopard Foundation (SLF) is a registered, non-profit and non governmental organization dedicated to conserve viable populations of snow leopards and other wild carnivores as an integral part of landscapes across Pakistan. SLF works in partnership with government departments, local communities, and other conservation organizations in snow leopard range. SLF has active working relationships with wildlife departments of the three provinces in snow leopard range, and established partnerships with over 20 community based organizations in Kyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan. The trust and working relationships that SLF has gained with stakeholders in snow leopard range helps catalyzing support for conservation work in the region. Majority of SLF staff are based in snow leopard range, operating through program offices in Gilgit and Chitral. This allows SLF to implement research and conservation work more efficiently while providing continous education/motivation to local communities. Field based present of SLF helps expedite project implementation. The overall purpose of these initiatives is to improve livelihoods, protect habitat and enhance tolerance for wildlife.
