Loro Parque Foundation
LPF supports and conducts applied research programmes that improve understanding of parrot biology in every aspect. Furthermore, it works to reduce the pressure exerted by trade on wild parrot populations, by supplying the demand from aviculturists with sustainably-bred captive parrots. It also uses captive-bred parrots in a sustainable manner to secure financial resources for conservation activities in the field, and to support re-introduction programmes. The LPF implements informal and school-based formal environmental education programmes in the Canary Islands.
