The Institute of the Environment(IOE) of Balamand University was established in January 2004to address pressing environmental concerns through scientific research and public action.The Vision and Mission of the IOE are accomplished through theMarine and Coastal Resources,the Land and Natural Resources,and the Environmental andEnergy Economics programs.The IOE has set its goals toprovide solutions tothe sustainability of natural resources within a complex human environment by promoting“Science as the BasisforDecision Making”.It aims to motivate the University community, the public and the region to participate more effectively inthe advancement of ethical andcompetent environmental practices.
