Adopt a Cedar Tree (or Hectares)

Project Details

NameAdopt a Cedar Tree (or Hectares)
DescriptionThe "Adopt a Cedar Tree" program at the Shouf Biosphere Reserve aims to support the conservation of the iconic Cedrus libani, or Lebanese cedar, within the reserve's "Immortal Cedar Forest". Participants in this program can adopt a cedar tree, which will bear their name on a plaque placed nearby. Each sponsor receives a certificate with a unique serial number and a renewable five-year membership for free entrance to the reserve. This initiative contributes directly to reforestation and ecosystem preservation efforts, helping to maintain the health and sustainability of one of Lebanon’s most significant natural treasures

Potential reduction of species extinction risk resulting from threat abatement actions

Absolute value (STAR)

8.7

3.8% of the total biodiversity conservation potential of Lebanon is covered by this project.

225.3

0.1% of Asia's biodiversity conservation potential is from Lebanon.

309,761.9

25.9% of global biodiversity conservation potential is from Asia.

This stacked bar chart represents the relative disaggregation of the selected contribution's total potential opportunity for reducing global species extinction risk through taking actions to abate different threats to species within its boundaries. The percentages refer to the amount of the total opportunity that could potentially be achieved through abating that particular threat.
