Urban Forest HANDS & ZONG)
In a collaborative effort between HANDS and Zong, urban forests were established in Multan, the creation of urban forests based on Dr. Akira Miyawaki's methodology, aiming to establish fast-growing, self-sustaining ecosystems within three years. These forests were developed using 100% native species and 100% organic biomass, eliminating the use of fertilizers, chemicals, or pesticides. The entire process, from site assessment to species selection and soil preparation, was conducted under the guidance of expert advisors. Numerous consultations were held with the Punjab Horticultural Authority and Punjab Forest Department to finalize the proposal and determine suitable locations within the cities. Through these concerted efforts and strategic planning, HANDS and Zong successfully implemented sustainable urban forest initiatives, contributing to the enhancement of environmental sustainability and biodiversity in and Multan, with a total of 700 trees planted in each city. In Multan, the selected area for this initiative was the historic Aram Bagh, a public park cherished by the local community.

Potential reduction of species extinction risk resulting from threat abatement actions
The chart below represents the relative disaggregation of the selected contribution's total potential opportunity for reducing global species extinction risk through taking actions to abate different threats to species within its boundaries. The percentages refer to the amount of the total opportunity that could potentially be achieved through abating that particular threat.
