Description | El Área de Conservación Comunitaria Chacaracual es un área privada de conservación creada por Provita con el apoyo de las comunidades locales y la organización británica World Land Trust. El área fue establecida en octubre de 2009 y abarca una extensión de 732 hectáreas en la Península de Macanao, Isla de Margarita, Estado Nueva Esparta, Venezuela. Desde entonces, la gestión del área se realiza con la participación de los Ecoguardianes, un grupo de jóvenes de las comunidades locales que Provita ha capacitado para formar parte de acciones locales de conservación, investigación y sensibilización ambiental. |
