Before It’s Too Late: Aqaba Confronts Climate Change – Phase III (2025)

Proportion of the area of the contribution comprising Key Biodiversity Areas: 99.9%

The project, implemented in Aqaba, aimed to support participatory climate action, raise awareness, and contribute to developing a local climate change adaptation action plan for the city’s coastal environment. The first and second phases (2023–2024) included a comprehensive study on climate change impacts on Aqaba’s coast. The third phase (2025) developed a local adaptation action plan aligned with the national plan. The project also included expert consultations, publications, field visits to environmental projects, and concluded with a final workshop presenting the project’s achievements and officially launching the local action plan for decision-makers and stakeholders.
