Jordan BirdWatch and the Royal Scientific Society are part of a research team including researchers and universities from Jordan, Georgia and the USA, studying avian zoonotic diseases along the eastern flyway. Most trapping and sampling in Jordan, is being carried out at the Azraq Wetland Reserve in coordination with the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature. Priority is given to bird safety during the trapping and sampling process.

Potential conservation benefits in saving biodiversity

Potential reduction of species extinction risk resulting from threat abatement actions

Absolute value (STAR)

0

0% of the total biodiversity conservation potential of Jordan is covered by this project.

41.7

0% of Asia's biodiversity conservation potential is from Jordan.

309,761.9

25.9% of global biodiversity conservation potential is from Asia.

The chart below represents the relative disaggregation of the selected contribution's total potential opportunity for reducing global species extinction risk through taking actions to abate different threats to species within its boundaries. The percentages refer to the amount of the total opportunity that could potentially be achieved through abating that particular threat.
